Breakout Session Topics
There are seven topic areas. A brief description follows of what each topic area covers which should be helpful in deciding your topic of interest for registration.
In this country, agriculture provides millions in economic impact. This category may focus on expansion of markets, greater technology, greater assistance, or new “green” businesses.
This category will center on our airport and surrounding area to determine the potential for businesses related to aviation. The assets of the airport provide a foundation to attract such businesses.
By definition, an entrepreneur is a person who is an organizer and manager of a business venture. This category covers all other businesses such as retail and hospitality not covered by other categories. It should also include new businesses that do not exist in our area. This can encompass attracting businesses and developers who can provide the thrust necessary to locate businesses here.
Infrastructure provides the foundation for a business to operate requiring good quality utilities and access to roadways and/or railways for transportation of products to and from the business. They also require in today’s world technologically up-to-date communication capabilities for internet access.
This category includes large employers of this community such as our area hospitals. Issues such as the ability to attract medical professionals, expand medical services and attract businesses that are suppliers to the medical community are some of the areas for growth.
This category is broad and can cover those elements of a community that make the area attractive for new businesses to decide to locate here. Entertainment, public safety, parks, recreation, schools and innovative planning are only some of the areas that can be attributed to this category.
This category is looking to the skills of our workforce after high school. It can cover job readiness and industry specific job skills. It can utilize our local university and community college.
